Site Description

A 38 story, 580 unit multi-family residential building in midtown Manhattan. The building is LEED Gold Certified.
 

Significance

The Helena utilizies two independent BIPV systems at the entrance canopy and the mechanical bulkhead at the top of the building.

The entrance canopy is composed of several different sized glass panels with PV cells in between. Each panel was custom designed and fabricated to specification based on collaboration between altPOWER and the customer.

The bulkhead incorporates standard panels into a custom mounting system, creating a row of blue strips to accent the building.
